Job summary

Everett Ship Repair in Everett, Washington is seeking a Journeyman Machinist (Outside) to install and align major propulsion systems and fabricate machinery components, foundations, and sub-assemblies in support of other departments.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, using lathes and milling machines, performing precision alignment, and ensuring quality and safety in a dynamic shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as Machinery Assembler or Machinist (Journeyman)
• Read and interpret specifications and work from drawings/blueprints
• Able to perform basic math and conversions SAE/metric
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights up to 60 ft
• Able to work overtime as necessary
• Knowledge of shipyard safety practices and vessel terminology
• Experience around heavy machinery

Responsibilities

• Install and align major equipment and propulsion systems.
• Fabricate foundations and sub-assemblies to blueprints; weld and tack as needed.
• Lay out, cut, form, machine, and prep for final assembly.
• Operate and maintain lathes, mills, grinders, drills, and measurement tools.
• Ensure tolerances meet owner specs and regulatory requirements.
• Work safely and with a team to complete tasks.
