Job summary

Dauch in Detroit is seeking a Journeyman Machine Repair Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and rebuild production and facility equipment in a forging environment.

You will apply advanced mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, fabrication, welding, machining, and troubleshooting skills to minimize downtime and support production objectives while maintaining safety and quality compliance.

Qualifications

• State-certified Journeyperson Machine Repair Card or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance, preferably in forging or heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; strong troubleshooting.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain forging production equipment.
• Install, align, and commission production machinery.
• Perform precision alignments with dial indicators and laser tools.
• Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems and power transmission components.
• Support safety programs and maintain housekeeping.
