Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking a skilled low-voltage technician to install and terminate copper and fiber-optic cabling systems in accordance with design requirements for projects in Glen Allen, Virginia.

You will read low voltage drawings and schematics, test cabling, and coordinate with other trades to keep project sequencing on track while maintaining accurate records and following safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred; completion within 6 months of hire is required.
  • BICSI Technician Certification or CompTIA Network+ Certification preferred.
  • Ability to read low-voltage drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets low voltage drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Installs and terminates copper and fiber-optic cabling systems following design requirements.
  • Tests and certifies cabling to verify performance and compliance.
  • Coordinates with other trades and DPR supervision to maintain project sequencing.
  • Identifies and resolves standard installation or wiring issues with minimal guidance.
  • Maintains accurate records of materials, test results, and installed components.
  • Adheres to all DPR safety procedures and quality expectations.
