Job summary

Tucson Electric Power is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to perform all phases of construction, operation, and maintenance of transmission and distribution lines. The role includes overhead and underground systems, installation of URD, and transformer connections, with on-call responsibilities and environmental awareness.

Qualified candidates should have a Lineman Apprenticeship or equivalent, be able to climb poles, read blueprints, and hold a CDL license.

Qualifications

Thorough understanding of utility distribution and transmission systems.
Ability to climb poles and operate aerial lifts and other construction equipment.
Completion of an accredited Lineman/Cable Apprenticeship Program or equivalent.
Knowledge of Blue Stake laws and applicable codes and standards.
Ability to read blueprints, maps, and work requests.

Responsibilities

Guide Apprentices and Helpers and oversee daily work.
Assemble wood pole lines and install underground conduits and URD systems.
Connect transformers and equipment on overhead and underground lines.
Drive and operate equipment; possess a CDL license.
Perform switching and place hold tags as required; participate in emergency service restoration.
Work safely per Company procedures; respond to on-call duties; reside in UES Santa Cruz territory.
