Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking Advanced Step Apprentice/Journeyman Lineman at the Chestnut Service Center in Minneapolis, MN. You will join a team handling construction maintenance and emergency repairs for distribution and transmission systems.

The role demands a high school diploma, Line School/Journeyman credentials, and a valid CDL. Expect competitive hourly pay with step-based increases and comprehensive benefits. Deadline 11/06/26.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a degree/diploma from an accepted Line School or a state issued Journeyman certificate.
• Must possess a state Journeyman certificate and pass a company skills assessment.
• Must meet driver qualification requirements, including the possession of a valid Commercial Class A Driver's License.
• Must be physically capable of performing all aspects of electric overhead and underground distribution construction, operations, and maintenance work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to successfully work with customers on a wide range of concerns.
• Must attend and pass all extended training.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team responsible for construction, maintenance, and emergency repairs of overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems.
• Support after-hours emergency call outs as needed.
