Job summary

Xcel Energy invites applications for Journeyman Lineman or Advanced Step Apprentice at the Monticello Service Center, MN. The role supports construction, maintenance, and emergency repairs of overhead and underground lines within the service area.

The position requires a valid Journeyman certificate or Line School degree, travel willingness, a high safety standard, and the ability to work at heights up to 100+ feet. Compensation ranges per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.
Must possess a degree/diploma from an accepted Line School or a state issued Journeyman certificate for an Advanced step position.
Must possess a state issued Journeyman certificate and pass a company skills assessment for a Journeyman position.
Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers required.
Able to work at heights up to and above 100 feet.
Willing to travel and work away from home.
Effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety rules are essential.

Responsibilities

Perform duties of the lineman classification involving construction, maintenance and emergency repairs of distribution and transmission systems.
Work as part of an electric line crew operation.
Reside within a 20 miles radius of the reporting headquarters.
