Job summary

Southern Electric Corporation in Flowood, MS is seeking a Journeyman Lineman responsible for construction and maintenance of substation and distribution lines. You will work independently when required and perform tasks safely on energized and de-energized systems.

The role requires an approved 42-month apprenticeship or five years of field experience, with knowledge of pole/tower climbing, JTSA, and proper PPE.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a 42-month apprenticeship or five years of continuous substation/line experience.
• Working knowledge of substation/line work with ability to work independently.
• Capability to perform tasks safely on energized and de-energized systems.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform line and distribution work as part of a crew.
• Read blueprints and interpret drawings for construction and maintenance.
• Conduct Job Task Safety Analysis (JTSA) as required.
• Operate and maintain digger derrick and bucket trucks safely.
• Inspect equipment, PPE, and materials for safe use.
• Work with limited supervision to complete assignments.
