Job summary

NorthStar Energy Solutions, part of Quanta Services, invites applications for a Utility OH LM A Lineman in Texas. The role covers energized and de-energized overhead distribution work, including maintenance, restoration, and repairs across field conditions.

The successful candidate will demonstrate journey-level knowledge, strong safety commitment, and ability to mentor apprentices. Travel and after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship completed or 4+ years as apprentice lineman.
• Valid Class A CDL.
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and emergency restoration events.
• Experience on energized distribution systems.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform work safely on energized and de-energized overhead distribution systems.
• Conduct JTSA and participate in job briefings prior to work.
• Construct, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and restore overhead distribution facilities.
• Install, remove, maintain, and replace poles, crossarms, insulators, transformers, switches, and conductors.
• Safely install and remove cover-up materials during energized work.
• String, sag, clip-in, and dead-end conductor per specs.
• Perform reconductoring and system upgrade projects.
• Safely install and remove mechanical jumpers during operations.
• Troubleshoot outages, voltage issues, and equipment failures on distribution systems.
• Identify primary and secondary voltage systems and applicable work methods.
• Maintain minimum approach distances around energized equipment.
• Climb poles and structures with fall-protection.
• Set, replace, and remove utility poles on energized/de-energized systems.
• Operate digger derricks, bucket trucks, line trucks, tensioning equipment.
• Understand safe excavation around underground utilities.
• Inspect, maintain, and operate trucks, tools, and PPE.
