Job summary

Basin Electric Power Cooperative seeks a lineman for its Williston, ND transmission system. Responsibilities include maintaining 115 kV to 345 kV lines on wood and steel structures, patrolling rights-of-way, and assisting other crews while focusing on safety and reliability.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, Journeyman Lineman rating or equivalent military training, and a valid CDL; NCCO certification may be needed within a year. CDL with air brakes required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 4 years of lineman apprenticeship and Journeyman rating or 4 years of related military training/experience.
• NCCO designation may be required or willingness to obtain within 1 year from hire date.
• Valid driver’s license for the state of residence; CDL Class A with air brakes, no restrictions other than medical variance.
• If no CDL, complete CDL training within first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain BEPC transmission facilities on 115 kV, 230 kV, and 345 kV lines.
• Climb wood/steel structures and patrol rights-of-way; repair hardware and conductors.
• Operate and inspect grounds, perform basic maintenance on vehicles and shop areas.
• Assist other linemen in line and structure maintenance with a focus on safety.
