Job summary

Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation is seeking qualified electricians to provide and maintain electric service to our customers. The role involves reading blueprints, installing meters, and performing diverse line construction tasks across residential, commercial, underground, and transmission sectors.

Candidates must be Journeyman Linemen or Journeyman Service Foremen and possess knowledge of RUS construction specifications.

Qualifications

• Must be a Journeyman Lineman or Journeyman Service Foreman.
• Working knowledge of RUS construction specifications (residential, commercial, single/three phase).

Responsibilities

• Observes and practices all safety policies and bulletins.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and RUS specification book and applies knowledge in the field.
• Installs and disconnects meters, and reads and records data as required.
• Constructs and maintains all phases of electrical line construction (residential, commercial, underground, transmission).
• Acts as backup for Working Foreman and Serviceman as needed.
• Assists service crews as required.
• Performs hot line work as required.
• Locates trouble and makes repairs.
• Serves on-call on rotation within the district; assists in restoring electric service while on-call.

Job description

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Exceptional favorable education may be considered for a portion of the experience requirements.
