Job summary

Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation, Inc. seeks a qualified Journeyman Lineman or Journeyman Service Foreman to maintain and service electrical distribution. The role involves reading blueprints, installing meters, and performing all phases of line construction across residential, commercial, underground, and transmission lines.

The position requires adhering to safety policies, working with service crews, and handling on-call duties to restore power as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Journeyman Lineman or Journeyman Service Foreman.
• Working knowledge of RUS construction specifications, including residential and commercial services, single/three phase line construction.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders and RUS specifications.

Responsibilities

• Observes and practices all safety policies and bulletins.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and RUS specification book.
• Installs and disconnects meters, and reads and records data.
• Constructs and maintains all phases of electrical line construction (residential, commercial, underground, and transmission).
• Acts as backup for Working Foreman and Serviceman as needed.
• Assists service crews as required.
• Performs hot line work as required.
• Locates trouble and makes repairs.
• Serves on-call on rotation within the district and assists in restoring electric service while on-call.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Exceptional favorable education may be considered for a portion of the experience requirements.
