Job summary

Jgmusa is seeking 2 experienced Traveling Journeyman Ironworkers to join our team. These roles will be based at our Sinking Spring fabrication facility and transition to traveling field assignments nationwide after 6–8 weeks.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing preventative maintenance, aligning and calibrating machinery, cutting, welding and fabricating steel, and reporting work progress. Strong safety mindset and ability to work in varying climates are required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of millwright experience.
• Ability to read equipment drawings and blueprints.
• Proficient in standard and metric measurements.
• Experience with laying out and aligning parts using tapes, lasers, or optical equipment.
• Ability to cut, weld and fabricate steel.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work in varying seasonal climates.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Submit work requests and complete work orders.

Position Overview

We are seeking 2 experienced Traveling Journeyman Ironworkers to join our team. These roles will initially be based at our Sinking Spring (SS) fabrication facility supporting an active project for 6-8 weeks, with the expectation to transition into traveling field assignments nationwide.

POSITION PROFILE

• Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
• Ability to align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts
• Cut, weld, and perform fabrication work with different types of steel.
• Assess repairs and estimate time frames to complete.
• Repair machinery in a timely manner.
• Identify mechanical and hydraulic problems and assist in findings solutions and making necessary repairs.
• Identify shaft sizes, measure up, and build shafts for replacement.
• Identify and change sprockets, bearings, and chains etc.
• Communicate directly and professionally with operators about how equipment is running to learn about any problems.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with the Planning and Scheduling Departments.
• Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring that the power source is turned off, machine locked out, and tested to ensure isolation.
• Submit work requests.
• Fill out completed work orders listing work done, parts used, and the time it took to complete the job.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• 2 to 4 years of millwright experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of layout and measurement practices to align parts and equipment using tapes, scales, lasers, and optical equipment.
• Proficient in reading and calculating measurements in both standard and metric denominations
• Prior manufacturing, warehouse or lumber operations experience (preferred).
• Ability and desire to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, climbing, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (preferred).
