Be part of LPR's Team! Under supervision, the Journeyman Ironworker is responsible for completing tasks related to structural iron and steel erection efficiently and with quality.
Required Skills
- Bolt-up structural members following blueprints and supervisor instructions
- Ability to weld 3G and 4G
- Rig structural-steel members to hoist cables using chains or cables
- Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place, using cranes or signal hoisting equipment
- Perform detail work such as installing angles, bent plates, welding clips, joists, and tube steel
- Assemble and install steel structures, including stairs, handrails, and guardrails
- Field fabrication or assembly of metal parts per blueprints or supervisor instructions
- Insert sealing strips, wiring, insulation, ladders, flanges, gauges, and valves as needed
Required Experience
- Use all safety and PPE, including safety harness and lanyard for proper tie-off
- Operate boom lift and scissor lift
- Position structural-steel members for bolting
- Walk or stand on girders or steel members to position them, using ropes for guidance
