Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Journeyman Industrial Pipefitter for a long-term maintenance position in the United States. The role requires laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related equipment for industrial processes. Outdoor work, safety gear, and physical fitness are essential.

Minimum 3 years of Journeyman experience is required; pass pre-employment checks and provide FR clothing. This is a full-time, 40-hour workweek with no per diem or relocation funding.

Qualifications

• Must be a Journeyman Industrial Pipefitter with minimum of 3 years of Pipefitting experience.
• Experience – 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience, required.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check as conditions of employment.
• Must provide your own fire-retardant clothing (FRC).
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness.
• Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded manholes, basements, or facility floors.
• Must be capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
• Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment.
