Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Painter in Baytown, TX to prepare surfaces and apply paint to equipment, parts, machinery, and buildings using a spray gun, brush and roller.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years journeyman painting experience, can work at heights, and is proficient in surface prep, color mixing, and reading work orders. TWIC card required; Equal Opportunity Employer; no unsolicited resumes will be considered.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Journeyman level painting experience.
• Able to read work orders and follow instructions.
• TWIC Card required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Reads work order and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepares surface to remove dirt, oil, grease, old paint and smooths cracks.
• Works at heights and may erect scaffolding or ladders as needed.
• May fill cavities and dents with putty to create a smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquids to match specifications.
• Applies paint using spray gun, brush or roller; other duties as assigned.
