ENGINEER

BB&E is a full-service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, serving both the Federal and Industrial sectors across the United States. Our team provides Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering, and Program/Project Management Services to federal and private clients.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Engineer to join our team. The role involves providing technical support and facilities planning for the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) Customer Funded Design & Construction Branch (CFSD) at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA)-Lackland, TX. The engineer will support fuels system upgrades and facilities projects for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This is a remote position with occasional meetings at JBSA-Lackland, San Antonio, TX.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide technical engineering support
  • Conduct design reviews and recommend corrective actions or approvals
  • Perform technical reviews of RFIs (potential changes, differing site conditions, etc.)
  • Review A&E and construction submittals
  • Offer expert analysis and advice to Government Project Managers and stakeholders regarding A&E and construction contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with DoD and industry standards. This includes evaluating designs, work plans, schedules, cost estimates, and contractor approaches, and recommending approval or disapproval.
  • Develop and present technical presentations, visual media, and/or training related to mission areas as needed.
Key Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC clearance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Highly motivated self-starter capable of managing multiple tasks independently
Experience & Education
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience related to design and/or construction
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and sit for at least 60% of the time
  • Operate office equipment including computers, copiers, phones, etc.
  • Use hands to handle objects, reach with arms
  • Lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Good visual acuity for close objects
  • Clear speech and hearing abilities for communication
