Job summary

Prime Partners is seeking a Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, and maintain commercial electrical systems for a range of clients. You will perform preventative maintenance, install lighting and EMS-related controls, and deliver safe, high-quality workmanship.

This role requires an electrical license or equivalent experience, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to work after hours and travel as needed. Strong communication with dispatchers and customers is essential.

Job description

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will have the technical expertise to install, service, and maintain electrical systems while identifying solutions in the field and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to install, service, and maintain electrical systems safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot, remove, repair, and install emergency lighting fixtures and exit signs.
  • Conduct inspections, surveys, and maintenance on emergency lighting systems.
  • Service, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade commercial lighting systems, including cooler lighting and LED retrofit projects.
  • Work with Energy Management Systems (EMS) and related electrical controls.
  • Replace ballasts, lamps, drivers, and electrical fixtures as needed.
  • Install, service, and maintain electrical systems including 120V-480V power distribution, panels, breakers, circuits, devices, and conduit systems such as EMT, MC, FLEX, and PVC.
  • Diagnose electrical issues and implement solutions to install, service, and maintain electrical systems that meet safety and code requirements.
  • Communicate with dispatchers and customers throughout the workday to provide updates on project status and service needs.
  • Respond to emergency service calls, including evenings, weekends, and on-call assignments when required.
  • Identify opportunities for upgrades, repairs, and additional services associated with customer electrical systems.
  • Complete electronic service reports, work orders, and timesheets accurately and on time.
  • Participate in final walkthroughs with site management and customers to verify project completion.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project teams to install, service, and maintain electrical systems according to project specifications.
  • Perform inspections and testing procedures to ensure all installed electrical components operate properly and safely.
  • Support ongoing customer relationships by delivering quality workmanship and helping customers install, service, and maintain electrical systems to maximize reliability and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician License (state/city/county, as applicable)
  • Clean driving record
  • Experience with scissor, boom, or bucket lifts for various installations
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with touchscreen electronics or willingness to learn
  • Willingness to work after hours, on-call shifts, and overnight travel when required
  • Prior experience in commercial/retail electrical service strongly preferred
