Qualifications

• HVAC experience and electrical repair skills are required.
• Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and schematics.
• Experience with both AC and DC electrical systems and testing methods.
• Must complete training and obtain applicable certifications.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is essential.
• Ability to troubleshoot using schematics and meters.
• Proficient with electrical tools and measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test and maintain electrical, electronic and HVAC systems on rolling stock per FRA and Amtrak standards.
• Diagnose malfunctions using test equipment, PC and graphic information to determine corrective actions.
• Repair/replace doors, electronics, signs, pantographs, and HVAC systems.
• Install components such as motors, generators, switches, relays, batteries and transformers.
• Perform approved electrical modifications and repairs as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment to identify causes of failures and implement fixes.
• Work with AC and DC voltage systems and maintain proper use of tools.
