Presto Industries Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Electrician with a maintenance background to join our team at the Eau Claire corporate headquarters. The role primarily involves electrical work, operating, monitoring, maintaining, and repairing gas-fired boilers, and performing routine chemical testing. The position requires flexibility to work evening and night shifts, be available for call-ins, and perform various day-to-day maintenance activities as assigned.

Requirements:

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 5 years of maintenance experience
• Electrical training and experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
• Safety training including MSDS, electrical safety, lifting, and rigging

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of maintenance and construction including structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
• Understanding of combustion principles and boiler firing practices
• Effective communication skills
• Familiarity with basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, and fax machines
• Experience with basic hand tools, equipment, and machinery including lawn mowers, skid steers, end loaders, backhoes, boom lifts, punch presses, shears, table saws, drills, routers, sanders, welders, oxygen/acetylene torches, plasma cutters

Essential Functions:

• Metal fabrication including cutting, welding, drilling, tapping, and design of stairs, railings, catwalks, guards, platforms, etc.
• Air conditioning maintenance, service, and troubleshooting
• Carpentry work such as cabinets, office construction, remodeling, framing, drywall, taping, texturing, flooring, trim, doors, and windows
• Cleaning tasks including dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming in various areas
• Roof drain installation, repair, piping, and cleaning
• Building and grounds maintenance
• Pipe fitting for steam heaters, sewer, water lines, airlines, hoses, etc.
• Copper pipe work including flaring, bending, soldering, and brazing
• Installation and maintenance of chain link fences and gates, clearing brush
• Lighting repair and replacement
• Guard post installation including core drilling

Other Duties:

• Snow removal
• Masonry work such as block walls, partitions, flatwork, floor repairs
• Landscape maintenance including lawn care, grading, retaining walls, trimming, and tree work
• Assisting with unloading semi-trailers
• Machinery installation and alignment, e.g., erecting dust collectors

Environmental Conditions: Work is performed in warehouse, manufacturing areas, and outdoors, with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and temperature variations. Earplugs and dust masks are provided as needed.

Physical Demands:

• Extended bending, kneeling, and standing
• Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 75 pounds
• Use of electrical, mechanical tools, machinery, and equipment
