Responsibilities
- Project Oversight - Supervise daily civil construction activities including earthworks, concrete, structural steel, and site utilities, ensuring alignment with project plans, schedule, and specifications.
- Team Management - Monitor and mentor subcontractors ensuring productivity and compliance with safety protocols.
- Safety Compliance - Enforce OSHA and site-specific safety standards, conducting regular inspections and toolbox talks to maintain a safe work environment.
- Quality Control - Monitor work progress and quality, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. Address deficiencies promptly. Ensure duties are performed safely and in compliance with all Company, Federal, State, and local regulations.
- Stakeholder Communication - Collaborate with construction managers, project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues, provide progress updates, and align on project goals.
- Documentation - Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, schedules, and change orders to track progress and support project reporting.
- Problem Solving - Identify and resolve on-site challenges such as weather delays, design conflicts, or labor shortages to keep the project on track.
Desired Skills, Qualifications And Competencies
- Experience - Minimum 7-10 years of experience in civil construction, with at least 3-5 years as a superintendent on industrial projects (e.g., oil & gas, power plants, or heavy industrial).
- Education - High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, including concrete, grading, paving, and underground utilities.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and schedules.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project, MS Office Suite).
Other Important Requirements
- A clear Criminal Record Check is required.
- Must provide own steel toed work boots, all other PPE supplied.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the operations site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
