Job summary

Utica Community Schools is seeking a full-time Electrician for the Sterling Heights, Michigan area. Under supervision, you will perform electrical maintenance, install and service lighting, fire alarm and power systems, and read blueprints to complete work orders.

Requirements include a Michigan Electrical Journeyman's or Master license, CDL, and a high school diploma or equivalent. The role requires safety-aware, tech-savvy individuals capable of coordinating with staff and other trades.

Qualifications

• Must read and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Michigan Electrical Journeyman's or Master license required.
• Possess or obtain CDL.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to install and service lighting, power, fire alarm, and motor control systems.
• Work from aerial platforms, ladders, and lifts.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Proficient with technology.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assignments and complete work orders daily.
• Adjust, repair and install lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, power and generated power circuits.
• Assist in recommendations on repair or replacement of equipment.
• Requisition materials per standard procedures and follow safety standards.
• Instruct personnel in proper equipment use to maximize efficiency.
• Communicate with building staff in writing and verbally.
• Assist other trades as needed.
• Clean up work debris.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
