Job Description:

****To qualify for this role, you must be able to deploy and be on long-term assignment on Kwajalein Island in the Marshall Islands.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Performs essential electrical tasks required in the construction and renovation of family housing units. The incumbent must exercise good interpersonal and technical skills while adhering to required safety standards and building codes.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and components, including wiring, circuit breakers, outlets, and lighting fixtures.
  2. Follows blueprints, building plans, and sketches to meet client needs.
  3. Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
  4. Tests electrical systems and circuit continuity using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  5. Ensures compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
  6. Collaborates with other construction professionals, including carpenters and plumbers, to meet project requirements.
  7. Assists in installing electrical systems in new buildings and renovating existing systems.
  8. Works directly with project managers, engineers, and other professionals to review plans and recommend improvements.
  9. Coordinates project schedules with other electricians, laborers, and resources; reviews and verifies materials for conformance to specifications.
  10. Works independently or as part of a team to complete assignments on schedule.
  11. Performs other responsibilities as appropriate.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Project Manager, Superintendent, Supervising Electrician, Lead Electrician

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of related electrical work experience, including installation, maintenance, and repair.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with electrical tools and equipment.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards and building codes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Use of tool belts and tools recommended.
  • OSHA Safety 30-Hour Certification required.
  • Journeyman Electrician License or Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical trade.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience, including managing employees, scheduling, and daily operations.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work dayshift or nightshift.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to relocate to Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
  • Valid US passport required.

Salary Range: $86,700.00 - $151,700.00
