Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) in Alabama to perform installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems under supervision, with the opportunity to lead a small crew of Helpers, Apprentices, or other J1’s. Qualified candidates will also have the opportunity to learn and grow in other divisions of Amteck, such as low voltage, controls, process work, and fire alarm.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience performing electrical construction in commercial and/or industrial environments.
• Able to use tools to perform assigned tasks in accordance with company policy.
• Demonstrate a team-player mentality and safety-focused work habits.
• Willing to work project schedules including weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and feeders.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of circuiting and read blueprints/schematics.
• Lay out work from drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
