Job summary

GovFirst seeks a qualified Journeyman Electrician to support tunnel, bridge, and roadway infrastructure projects in Southeast Virginia. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and ensure NEC compliance.

The role requires troubleshooting up to 480 VAC, reading blueprints, and maintaining accurate work records. CDL eligibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Licensed Journeyman Electrician required.
• Fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial and industrial electrical systems, including load centers and distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, isolate, and repair electrical components up to and including 480 VAC three-phase systems.
• Maintain electrical wiring systems in compliance with the NEC and applicable standards.
• Inspect electrical systems and components to evaluate condition and recommend maintenance actions.
• Assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical apparatus, wiring, and control systems for tunnels, bridges, and roadway infrastructure.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and specifications.
• Utilize testing instruments to diagnose and resolve malfunctions.
• Estimate labor, materials, time, and costs for maintenance projects.
• Communicate status and needs with supervisors and team members.
