Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an experienced electrical installer to plan, lay out, install, test and repair wiring, fixtures, motors and control systems on construction sites in strict accordance with plans and applicable codes.

You will interpret drawings, determine tools and procedures, install conduit, terminate wiring, test systems for safety, and ensure reliable operation in environments with high and low voltage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical tools and safety practices.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Proficient with electrical hand tools, power tools, layout tools and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Interprets drawings and plans to determine procedures, tools and equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs conduit; installs or welds supports; lays out cable and duct banks; makes terminations.
• Installs control and distribution apparatus and secures equipment in place.
• Tests and starts up systems, verifies circuit continuity and electrical safety.
• Monitors operation of installed systems to identify hazards and necessary adjustments or replacements.
• May pull wire through conduit and connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Works with high and low voltage systems and disassembles defective equipment for repair.
• Operates electrical and mechanical hand tools, power tools, hydraulic and pneumatic tools.
• Estimates sizes, distances and quantities and assesses time, costs and materials needed for tasks.
• Inspects subordinates' work for compliance with plans and specifications and implements corrective actions when needed.
