Job summary

Firehawk Aerospace in Addison, TX seeks a Journeyman Electrician to build and maintain our facilities. You will run wiring, install fixtures, panels, transformers, and connect complex electrical layouts per NEC and safety codes.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults with meters, interpreting schematics, and ensuring OSHA compliance while coordinating with cross‑functional teams on critical projects. Travel up to ~30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas Journeyman license with ability to reference NEC codebook as needed.
• Ability to calculate loads for new structures including conduit, disconnect, transformer, and panel sizes.
• Experience with 3-phase 480V, 240V, 208V and 120V systems.
• Experience installing Class 1, Div 1/2 systems and conduit up to 2" GRC.
• Experience wiring, paneling, lighting, and troubleshooting electrical systems.

This position will be full‑time located at our Addison, TX facilities with occasional travel potentially required (approximately 30%).

Position Details

As a Journeyman Electrician at Firehawk Aerospace, you will play a critical role in building new company facilities and maintaining existing ones. You will work closely with all teams and be part of critical projects. This position requires strong hands‑on skills, the ability to complete projects in a timely manner, and the capability to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Run wiring, set up conduit, and install fixtures, panels, transformers, and circuit breakers in commercial and industrial settings.
• Use multimeters, circuit testers, and other specialized tools to diagnose electrical faults and safely repair them.
• Interpret complex technical diagrams and schematics to map out electrical layouts while strictly adhering to safety and building codes.
• Maintain a safe job site by following OSHA guidelines, identifying potential hazards, and testing systems to ensure everything operates correctly.
• Participate in electrical and other facility projects from the design phase to procurement of all materials and to completion of the buildout.

Basic Qualifications

• Valid Texas Journeyman license and ability to reference the codebook when needed.
• Must be able to calculate loads for new structures including conduit size, disconnect size, transformer size, and panel size according to equipment loads per NEC.
• Knowledge of 3‑phase 480 V, 240 V, 208 V, and 120 V electrical systems.
• Experience in installation of Class 1, Div 1, Div 2 systems including cutting and threading rigid conduit up to 2″ GRC, installing seal-offs at appropriate locations, installing switches and receptacles, making terminations at equipment, panels, transformers, disconnect switches, lighting, and devices, bending GRC on a triple nickel.
• Experience in general electrical systems including installation of panels, transformers, disconnects, lighting, receptacles, bending EMT up to 1″ with hand benders, pulling wire with an understanding of wire numbers and colors, installation of light fixtures, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and general machine repair.
• Willingness to learn and expand knowledge in the aerospace industry, including but not limited to static electricity and combustible dust.

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and a shop coat.

Security Clearance

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
