Qualifications

• Skill in the use of electrical testing tools or any tool necessary to complete job assignments.
• Knowledge of schematic drawings; of electrical trouble shooting; of electrical codes; of maintenance, construction and repair; of the hazards and safety precautions of the work; and of departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to maintain physical stamina to perform heavy labor; to logically plan order of work and phases of jobs; to estimate man hours required and cost for specific jobs; and to use hand and mechanical tools and equipment.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, Internet software, Inventory Control software, Project Management software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software

Responsibilities

• Comply with all applicable electrical codes, regulations, governmental agency and county directives related to building operations and safety.
• Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting and other electrical systems.
• Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc.
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
• Read, interpret, and execute drawings, schematics, blueprints and electrical code specifications to see layout of commercial electrical equipment installations.
