Job summary

Under general supervision, performs experienced journey level work maintaining, inspecting, repairing, ordering, and installing electrical components, parts and equipment. The electrician completes all work in a safe, secure, and timely manner and in compliance with applicable code and trade practices.

Inspects and remain alert for electrical dangers and code violations, which if discovered will be reported to the Buildings and Ground Manager.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid electrical work experience.
• Substitution: two years vocational school can substitute for experience or journey level exam.
• EPA certification may be required for refrigerant recycling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, repair, order, and install electrical components, parts and equipment.
• Ensure work is safe, secure, timely and code-compliant.
• Report electrical dangers or code violations to the Buildings and Ground Manager.
• Complete preventive maintenance schedules and related logs/reports.
• May take on additional duties and assist in security posts as needed.
