Job summary

The Office of the County Engineer in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Electrician to perform general electrical work for County buildings. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems tied to construction, renovation, and ongoing facilities operations.

The role requires a State Journeyman Electrician license, at least five years of hands-on experience, and the ability to read blueprints and follow electrical codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Journeyman Electrician license required.
• Five years of hands-on commercial or residential electrical experience.
• Ability to read and build from blueprints; knowledge of electrical codes.
• Able to obtain CJIS clearance and pass security/drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, or repair electrical equipment and systems in County buildings.
• Estimate time and materials; perform maintenance tasks as needed.
• Assist and train less experienced co-workers and perform other duties as assigned.
• On-call after hours and readiness to respond as required.
