Walker Engineering is hiring licensed Journeyman Electricians in the Houston metro. The role involves installation, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems under a Foreman or Superintendent, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Responsabilidades

• Performs underground layout and rough-in.

• Installs BUSS feeders.
• Performs switchgear installation and terminations.
• Installs and connects power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.
• Operates any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all tasks.

Job Description

Walker Engineering is currently hiring Licensed Journeyman Electricians in the Houston Metro. If you are an experienced Electrical Journeyman and meet/or exceed the requirements below, we would like to talk with you!

A Journeyman works under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent in installations, alterations, additions, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on any type project.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• A Journeyman may be required to perform any of the duties and responsibilities associated with classifications E4 or A4. In addition, a first level Journeyman:
• Lays out work and preps materials for installation.
• Performs underground layout and rough-in.
• Determines wire and conduit sizing.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
• Installs BUSS feeders.
• Performs switchgear installation and terminations.
• Installs and connects power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.
• Operates any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks.
• Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.
• Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English skills. Must understand basic electrical theory and its application to installations. Must be able to work occasional overtime as required.

Licenses

Journeyman’s License, current Driver’s License and must have own reliable transportation.

Education

High School Graduate, GED or equivalent.

Experience

Must have completed a qualified apprenticeship program and have over 8000 hours of on the job work experience.
