Job description

A Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They must be able to read blueprints and technical diagrams, troubleshoot electrical problems, and ensure that all work is completed in compliance with local and national electrical codes.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
2. Read blueprints and technical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems
3. Install wiring, lighting systems, and other electrical components
4. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
5. Diagnose and repair electrical problems in electrical systems, including malfunctioning motors, switches, and other electrical components
6. Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with local and national electrical codes
7. Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams
3. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
6. Ability to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces
7. Must hold Current North Dakota Journeyman Electrician License, or be licensed in Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and be able to apply for reciprocal license.
