Job description

Midwest Solar Power is seeking a Residential Journeyman Electrician to join our solar electric team. We are a growing, locally owned company that has been installing solar electric systems in the Madison area since 2009. Responsibilities

1. Read and interpret plans/permit sets to determine the layout of solar PV electrical and battery systems.
2. Participate in job pre-planning, including applying for required electrical permits.
3. Work cooperatively with team members to complete solar system installations.
4. Ensure all installations comply with NEC standards and local regulations.
5. Troubleshoot and diagnose system components to resolve electrical issues.
6. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications

1. Valid Journeyman Electrician license.
2. Knowledge of current NEC codes.
3. Knowledge of residential electrical wiring and systems.
4. Knowledge of solar PV systems and equipment.
5. Ability to read and interpret solar PV system layout plans.
6. Knowledge of building construction principles and practices.
7. Ability to use power and hand tools.
8. Proficiency with test meters and diagnostic tools.
9. Ability to complete required training within specified timeframes.
10. Ability to see color for wiring identification.
11. Ability to work on roofs and lift up to 70 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits

• $34.20 - $38.30/hour.
• Full-time, 40-45 hours/week.
