Nextlink Internet is hiring an experienced Electrician for field operations in Lincoln, NE. You will perform onsite electrical installations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with safety codes while coordinating with inspectors and teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams and installation manuals to complete projects.
• Remain in compliance with current National Electric Code and safety standards.
• Inspect & test electrical components, transformers, switches and gear.
• Manage electrical permits in the assigned area.
• Build and maintain rapport with local city inspectors and stakeholders.
• Wear PPE and work in outdoor environments and elevated locations.

Essential Functions

• Inspect & test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, and switch gears

• Clean driving record and the ability to drive a company vehicle

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent

Work Environment/Hazards

• Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind
• In proximity of heavy machinery and moving vehicles

Physical Demands

• Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of at least 60 pounds or more
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms
• Must be able to climb roof tops of all types and to perform job duties from high places.
• Must be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight up roofs and vertical tower repeatedly
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, sit, and climb ladders and communication towers and work in an elevated position
• Frequently required to use hand and power tools

Working Hours/Days

Monday through Friday Min 40 hours, flexible hours Overtime as needed

40-60% travel required, some out of state Some overnight will be required
