Job summary

Measurement Resources, Inc. is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems supporting oil and gas production facilities throughout South Texas.

Expect work with AC/DC power, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, RTUs, and production automation. The role requires a Texas Journeyman Electrician license, strong field troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently in demanding environments.

Qualifications

  • Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License required.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial or oilfield electrical experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills reading electrical drawings and control schematics.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound troubleshooting decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in oil and gas facilities.
  • Diagnose and repair issues involving motors, control panels, power distribution, and field equipment.
  • Install and maintain DC/AC systems (12VDC–48VDC; 120/240/480VAC).
  • Work with MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, RTUs, and production automation equipment.
  • Perform conduit installation, wire pulls, terminations, and equipment installations.
  • Read one-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs; perform preventative maintenance.
  • Support startup, commissioning, and facility expansion projects.
  • Coordinate with operations, customers, and other technicians.

Job Summary

MRI Automation is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems supporting oil and gas production facilities throughout South Texas. This position requires a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, oilfield operations, safety compliance, and troubleshooting techniques in demanding field environments.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with AC and DC power systems, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, RTUs, and production facility electrical infrastructure. Candidates should be self-motivated, safety-focused, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in oil and gas production facilities
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues involving motors, control panels, power distribution systems, and field equipment
  • Install and maintain:
    • 12VDC, 24VDC, and 48VDC systems
    • 120VAC, 240VAC, and 480VAC systems
    • Motor control centers (MCCs)
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
    • PLCs and RTUs
    • Production automation equipment
  • Perform conduit installation, wire pulls, terminations, and electrical equipment installations
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
  • Support startup, commissioning, and facility expansion projects
  • Coordinate with operations personnel, customers, and other field technicians
  • Maintain accurate service reports and project documentation
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, company standards, and customer safety requirements
  • Participate in emergency callouts and after-hours support when required
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong attendance
Qualifications
  • Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License required
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial or oilfield electrical experience preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial electrical environments
  • Experience reading electrical drawings and control schematics
  • Ability to work independently and make sound troubleshooting decisions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to travel to customer locations throughout South Texas
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
  • Live within 45 minutes of Kenedy, TX (Preferred)
  • Wear required PPE, including FR clothing and safety equipment
