Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of electrical principles, construction and wiring schematics.
• OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Job description

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, ensuring safety and compliance with residential, commercial, and industrial environments. The Journeyman Electrician will often mentor and train apprentices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Install electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment according to blueprints and specifications .
• Diagnose and repair electrical problems, such as faulty wiring, malfunctioning equipment, or damaged components .
• Identify and resolve electrical issues using various testing devices and tools .
• Interpret technical drawings and diagrams to understand the layout and requirements of electrical systems .
• Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered .

Skills and Qualifications :

• Proven work experience and minimum of 3-4 years of professional history as a Journeyman Electrician
• Completed associate degree or vocational school, apprenticeship program or recognized electrical vocational training
• Applicable Electrician license or certification
• Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code and other safety standards
• In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, construction, wiring schematics
• Possess OSHA 10 or willing to obtain
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, stop, crouch, crawl, squat, kneel, grasp, manipulate hand and power tools
• Possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
