Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join its team in Chester, VA. The role supports facility electrical systems through inspection, repair, preventive maintenance, and reliable service.

The candidate must hold a Journeyman’s license, have 5–7 years of electrical experience, a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and basic Microsoft Office skills. Shifts are 10pm–8am with training M-F 8am–5pm and an assignment of about 5 months with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Journeyman’s license required (Master Electrician license may be required by local electrical codes).
• 5–7 years of experience in electrical work.
• High school diploma or GED; trade school diploma preferred in alignment with experience.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to meet physical requirements (stooping, standing, climbing stairs/ladders, lifting 50 lbs+).
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general operation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and lighting systems, including new equipment installations.
• Inspect, check, repair, and replace electrical and lighting components such as wiring, controls, switches, motors, gauges, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, and related systems.
• Maintain equipment in a safe operating condition and support safe work practices on an active construction site.
• Review historical maintenance records to help create proactive inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Use standard procedures and technical judgment to solve routine problems and deliver efficient, reliable service to customers.

• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong organizational skills.
