Job summary

Airco Mechanical is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems across project sites. You will read blueprints, plan conduit layouts, and supervise apprentices while ensuring compliance with NEC and local codes.

The ideal candidate holds a Texas Journeyman license, can interpret project documents, and will uphold safety standards on all job sites.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Texas Journeyman Electrical License.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems per NEC, codes, and specs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and project docs.
• Plan conduit layouts, wire pulls, and device installations.
• Install and terminate panels, switchgear, transformers, and electrical equipment.
• Perform electrical testing and inspections for proper operation.
• Lead and mentor apprentices on methods and safety practices.
• Ensure work is on schedule, accurate, and safe.

Job Duties:

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems in accordance with NEC, local codes, and project specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and project documents
• Plan and execute conduit layouts, wire pulls, and device installations
• Install and terminate panels, switchgear, transformers, and electrical equipment
• Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and inspections to ensure proper operation
• Lead and mentor apprentices, providing guidance on proper methods and safety practices
• Ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and on schedule
• Coordinate with foremen, supervisors, and other trades on job sites
• Enforce job site safety standards and OSHA regulations
• Identify material needs and communicate shortages or issues to supervision
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area

Qualifications:

• Valid State of Texas Journeyman Electrical License
• Able to pass a background check and a drug screening
