Job description

Position Summary

The Journeyman Electrician should possess electrical knowledge and experience.

Essential Functions

1. Fabricate and install wire-way hangers, install conduit both below and above ground, and install assorted sizes and types of cables (thru and local) for lighting, communications, control, power, and electronics.
2. Install components such as terminal boxes, switches, controllers, wiring harnesses, and cabinets for various electrical systems.
3. Install main power switchboards and electrical equipment, and connect cables for installed components.

Requirements

Position Qualifications

• Previous electrical or electronic trade experience or training.
• This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to frequently carry up to 25 lbs. and push/pull more than 25 lbs.
• Ability to work all shifts.
• Availability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperature conditions as required.
• High school diploma or GED; additional qualifications from Vocational, Technical, or Community Colleges or Apprentice programs are preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old, or older if required by law, and eligible for apprenticeship programs.
• Potential eligibility for apprenticeship programs in Construction Laborer, Combination Welder, Electrician, Heavy Equipment Operator, or Substation Lineman.

Skills and Certifications

• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Basic electrical knowledge and trades training.
• No electrical license required.

Education & Experience

Education: Applicable journeyman licensure requirements.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Adobe.

Certificates & Licenses: Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
