Interstate Power Systems is looking for First and Second Shift Journeyman Diesel Truck Mechanic/Technician(s) for our Butler, Wisconsin location.


We are currently seeking Journeyman Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) to join our team, specializing in Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT products, MTU, and more! We offer highly competitive wages.


A Journeyman Diesel Truck Technician will be an expert within their field, capable of independently completing jobs from start to finish. They will have expertise in all internal systems within their scope, mentor other employees, and proactively identify improvements. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a heavy-duty truck mechanic is required.


Diesel Technicians will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related components in trucks, buses, and other heavy-duty vehicles, often at customer locations or roadside. Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills are essential.

Job Duties


  • Repair and maintain diesel engines and components used in various vehicles and equipment.
  • Technical degree or certification is a plus.
  • Diagnose complex diesel engine issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding repairs.
  • Ensure quality work to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and submit accurate paperwork upon job completion.
  • Meet certification requirements.

Requirements


  • Valid Driver's license; CDL bonus.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a heavy-duty diesel truck mechanic.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability.
  • Excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines, especially GHG17 products.
  • Experience with other diesel platforms like Cummins, CAT, International is a plus.
  • Additional mechanical skills such as hydraulics, brakes, suspension, manual and automatic transmissions are desirable.
  • Ability to lift and work physically without restrictions.
