Job summary

Amentum is seeking a skilled Carpenter/Roofer for a government contract in Kings Bay, Georgia. The role covers carpentry, roofing inspections and repairs, and related maintenance tasks performed to protect building structures and ensure safety.

Candidates must have a minimum of three years roofing experience and two years as a journey-level carpenter, with ability to read blueprints and work at heights. A valid driver's license and NRCA roofing seminar eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Three years of verifiable current roofing experience (hands-on) in roof inspection, repair, and maintenance including a minimum two years as a journey-level carpenter.
• Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc., (includes blueprint reading, measurement, and layout).
• Must complete NRCA-approved roofing seminar within 90 days of hire and biannually thereafter.
• Must possess the standard tools of the trade.
• Must be able to work at various heights from mechanical lifting devices.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry duties to maintain building, woodwork and equipment.
• Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings or verbal instructions using hand and power tools.
• Inspect and repair roofing systems and identify water intrusion areas.
• Modify and repair metal components, flashings and roof panels as needed.
• Inspect, disassemble and modify siding to prevent water intrusion.
