Job summary

Skillit is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to join a commercial construction crew on a Fletcher, NC project. You will work on-site performing layout, formwork, framing and finish carpentry on mid- to large-scale projects.

Expect a hands-on role with a crew-focused environment. You will report to the site foreman, follow safety procedures, and keep work areas organized while reading plans and using hand and power tools with pride in quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years commercial carpentry experience on concrete, framing, and finish scope.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layout points, and cut lists.
• Proven skill with hand tools, saws, drills, levels, and layout instruments.
• OSHA 10-hour construction card preferred; valid driver’s license.
• English communication on-site; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow blueprints, layout lines, and project drawings for framing and finish work.
• Build, set and strip concrete forms and install embeds, anchors and blockouts.
• Measure, cut and assemble wood, metal framing, stairs, doors, and trim using hand and power tools.
• Install temporary bracing, scaffolding components, and ensure assemblies meet plumb and level.
• Maintain tools and equipment, keep the work area clean, and report material needs to the foreman.
• Follow site safety plans, attend toolbox talks, and cooperate with inspections and quality checks.
