Job summary

Loenbro seeks a Journeyman Carpenter to join Loenbro West in Thompson Falls, MT. You will collaborate with project management to complete projects on time and within budget, performing all types of carpentry in heavy industrial construction.

The role requires reading prints, erecting structures, forming, pouring concrete and ensuring compliance with plans, codes and EH&S policies. TWIC Card/Real ID and physical stamina are often needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Concrete Carpenter Journeyman in an industrial setting is required.
  • Ability to read prints, drawings and specifications and translate them into work.
  • Strong safety mindset and ability to follow instructions and communicate with supervision.
  • Proficient with electrical/hand/power tools and layout/measuring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret prints, drawings, plans, specifications and visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures, scaffolding and framework using hand and power tools.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts; construct and erect built- in-place or prefabricated wooden forms, according to specifications for molding concrete structures.
  • Erect built-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms; Insert spreaders and tie-rods between opposite pieces to maintain specific dimensions; brace forms in place using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, and timber.
  • Pour concrete into finished forms, finish concrete surfaces to specifications, and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications.

Job Summary

The Journeyman Carpenter will work with the project management team to complete projects under contract. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with a team of professionals to complete these projects within the projected deadline and under budget. Journeymen will be expected to plan, lay out, and perform all types of Carpentry work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. This position will be working in a heavy industrial construction setting.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
Required:
  • Experience as a Concrete Carpenter Journeyman in a powerplant/industrial setting is required.
  • TWIC Card and/or Real ID’s are required.
  • Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools as well as measurement tools.
Preferred:
  • The successful candidate for this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site,
    so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor
    weather conditions.
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
  • May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access
    required equipment/work areas, so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.

  • Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.

  • Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
