Position Summary

Facilities and Property Management (FPM) comprises approximately 80 full time and 60 student employees who work together to maintain over 5 million square feet in downtown Portland, and this team is a key element in the department. This position performs journey-level commercial carpentry construction, maintenance and repair on the interior and exterior areas of campus buildings. The position is part of the In-House Construction crew in Facilities and Property Management (FPM). Minimum Qualifications from Classification

-Experience as a skilled carpenter. The experience must include form building; rough framing; outside and inside finishing; layout; care and use of tools and woodworking machinery; blueprint reading; and application of safety standards and codes; OR

-Completion of an apprenticeship (four years) under a skilled carpenter which included experience as listed above.

Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position

• 2 years experience working as a journeyman level carpenter.
• Good communication skills.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Valid Driver's License.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Willing and able to wear a half mask respirator.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years experience working at a journeyman carpenter level, in commercial construction or in a school or institutional environment.
• Experience working both independently and directing non-skilled labor.
• Various equipment operation certification or licenses.
• HAZMAT training.
• Journeyman card.

Work Days/Hours

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement

The starting hourly salary rate for this position is between $25.00 and $30.11 plus a monthly recruitment and retention bonus equal to 10% of the base salary which equates to $27.50 to $33.12 per hour. The starting salary will be dependent upon
