Job summary

Portland State University in downtown Portland is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to perform skilled commercial carpentry, maintenance and repair across campus buildings as part of the In-House Construction crew within Facilities and Property Management.

Qualifications

• Experience as a skilled carpenter with form building, rough framing, finishing, layout, tool use and reading blueprints.
• Completion of a four-year apprenticeship under a skilled carpenter.
• 2 years experience working as a journeyman level carpenter.
• Good communication skills.
• Background check required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willing and able to wear a half mask respirator.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level commercial carpentry construction, maintenance and repair on campus buildings.
• Work as part of the In-House Construction crew within Facilities and Property Management (FPM).
