Job summary

Applitrack seeks a Journeyman Mechanic 1 for Coweta County Schools Transportation Department. The role focuses on diagnosing problems, repairing engines and fuel systems, and maintaining equipment to keep school vehicles running safely.

Responsibilities include diagnostics across hydraulic, brake, ignition, and electrical systems, plus radio and camera subsystem repairs. CDL is required, and experience with diagnostic tools is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and CDL license.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing engines, fuel systems, ignition and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic and air brake systems.
• Radio and camera system diagnostics and repairs; read diagnostic codes for engines (International, Cummins, Mercedes).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems, maintain shop records, and order needed parts.
• Communicate clearly with shop personnel, bus drivers and supervisors.
• Perform work with minimal supervision and follow safety rules.
• Carry out repairs on engines, fuel and ignition systems, and associated components.
