UPMC is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join its facilities team to maintain safe, functional environments across our hospitals and campuses. You will perform carpentry repairs, installations, renovations, and preventive maintenance while supporting the ongoing needs of our buildings and facilities.

Responsibilities include building millwork and casework per print, operating power woodworking machinery, maintaining clean work areas, and following infection control procedures to protect patients

• Perform infection control procedures and containment (ICRA) as required.
• Perform repair and installation of locks, glass, linoleum, tile, etc.
• Record hours and submit daily to supervisor.

Join our facilities team as a Carpenter and help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment. You’ll perform carpentry repairs, installations, renovations, and preventive maintenance while supporting the ongoing needs of our buildings and facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Construct and maintain structural and architectural woodwork, equipment and fixtures; build millwork, construct casework per print and perform masonry repairs as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, equipment rooms and shop areas.
• Operate power woodworking machinery such a lathes, saws, sander, power actuated tools, etc.
• Perform all work following infection control procedures.
• Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized.
• Perform related duties such as repair and install locks, install window glass, cut, fit and cement linoleum, lay resilient tile floors, etc.
• Perform rough and finished carpentry, i.e. build millwork, and construct casework.
• Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis.
• Repair furniture, window, floor or structural and architectural woodwork by measuring, sawing, squaring, fitting, sanding and nailing or other processes where articles require closely fitted parts.
• Responsible for setting up appropriate level of infection control containment (ICRA) based on risk level and maintaining the integrity of that containment.
