Pittsburgh Tomorrow is seeking a skilled carpenter/woodworker to construct and maintain millwork, casework, and related wood structures per print specifications. The role involves operating power woodworking machinery and performing masonry repairs as needed, while maintaining infection control and safe shop practices.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent plus trade-specific training and at least two years of carpentry experience in healthcare or commercial settings.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or trade-specific certificate or equivalent on-the-job training considered.
• Two additional years of carpentry experience in healthcare or commercial environments preferred.
• Experience operating power woodworking machinery (lathes, saws, sanders, etc.).
• Able to follow infection control procedures and maintain safe work areas.

Aufgaben

• Construct and maintain structural and architectural woodwork, equipment and fixtures; build millwork, construct casework per print and perform masonry repairs as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, equipment rooms and shop areas.
• Operate power woodworking machinery such as lathes, saws, sander, power actuated tools, etc.
• Perform all work following infection control procedures.
• Perform maintenance work where carpentry skills are utilized.
• Repair and install locks, window glass, cut, fit and cement linoleum, lay resilient tile floors, etc.
• Perform rough and finished carpentry, i.e. build millwork and construct casework.
• Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor daily.
• Repair furniture, window, floor or woodwork by measuring, cutting, fitting, sanding and nailing.

Responsibilities:

• Construct and maintain structural and architectural woodwork, equipment and fixtures; build millwork, construct casework per print and perform masonry repairs as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, equipment rooms and shop areas.
• Operate power woodworking machinery such a lathes, saws, sander, power actuated tools, etc.
• Perform all work following infection control procedures.
• Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized.
• Perform related duties such as repair and install locks, install window glass, cut, fit and cement linoleum, lay resilient tile floors, etc.
• Perform rough and finished carpentry, i.e. build millwork, and construct casework.
• Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis.
• Repair furniture, window, floor or structural and architectural woodwork by measuring, sawing, squaring, fitting, sanding and nailing or other processes where articles require closely fitted parts.
• Responsible for setting up appropriate level of infection control containment (ICRA) based on risk level and maintaining the integrity of that containment.

High school diploma or equivalent and Trade school or trade specific multi-discipline certificate required OR equivalent on the job training and/or military experience will be considered. Two additional years of carpentry experience working in a healthcare or commercial environment.
