Job summary

UPMC Passavant in Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time Plant Maintenance carpenter to perform rough and finished carpentry, new construction and remodeling in a safe, hospital environment.

You will read blueprints, install doors, windows, drywall and related systems, and collaborate with other trades to complete projects on schedule. The role requires independence, adherence to safety rules, and cost awareness within project scopes.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of institutional/healthcare construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprint and construction drawings preferred.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Driver's License; Act 34.

Responsibilities

• Perform rough and finished carpentry with drywall construction, cabinet and shelf fitting, hang doors and install hardware.
• Install windows, wall accessories, and related carpentry work; assist other trades as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area; follow hospital policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints; manage tools and material inventories; work with minimal supervision.
