SUMMARYThe master electrician provides for all electrical work to be accomplished in-house by the facilities staff. The electrician performs day-to-day maintenance, project work, special events, and unscheduled maintenance as directed by the Associate Director Facilities. The individual reviews plans and drawings for projects, validates requirements for daily work and projects, and assesses, troubleshoots equipment for the repair of all electrical equipment ranging from light fixtures through motors and generators.
Essential Job FunctionsPlan, organize and layout all components of electrical work through the use of blue prints, specifications, interaction with consultants, contractors, architects, etc. Perform electrical work in medium voltage transmission and distribution systems and relays Perform repair of electric motors, generators and controllers ranging from fractional horsepower to 500 horsepower Repair, renovate and install electrical systems, components, fixtures, or electrical equipment in accordance with applicable NEC procedures and guidelines, manufacturer's specifications and department guidance Make repairs to operations, maintenance and electronic equipment as necessary Maintain files and documentation on building electrical systems as required Complete all work orders assigned and provide appropriate documentation in relation to completion of work Accomplish all work in accordance with MIOSHA/OSHA guidance, applicable City, County and State building codes and regulations Repair electrical systems for hydraulic equipment, injections molding, welding equipment, HVAC systems, etc. Repair, maintain, and calibrate electrically operated controls and devices, such as, communication devices, signaling devices, fire warning and security systems Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position.
Travel throughout all GRCC campuses and Satellite Learning Centers using personal and/or company vehicles.
Perform other duties as assigned.
