The Journey Level Plumber performs the layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of water, waste/vent, storm drain, gas, and vacuum systems for new construction and remodel projects. Key duties include reading blueprints to execute material take-offs, ordering supplies, and developing labor and material estimates for project bidding and budgeting. This role is also responsible for scheduling necessary utility shutdowns and excavations, maintaining plumbing tools and equipment, and ensuring all installations strictly adhere to relevant plumbing and building codes. This position is part of the Remodel & Construction Services Plumbing Shop within Facilities. Application deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Monday, October 5th. ## Job Duties* Plumbing system installations, Perform the layout and installation of all potable water, waste and vent systems, storm drain systems, natural gas systems, specialty gas and vacuum systems being added or modified for remodels or for new construction projects. * Materials, Read blueprints and calculates materials needed. Orders and obtains proper supplies. Estimate new construction and remodel, material/labor for bidding purposes. Consult with other units for estimating conflicts. Develop estimates from written and verbal instructions. Work with PM to arrive at project budget. * Miscellaneous, Other related duties as assigned or requested in order to meet the needs, goals and objectives of the department.
